Keychron has introduced the Z11 Ultra 8K, a new 65% split mechanical keyboard using an Alice-style ergonomic layout combined with tri-mode connectivity and high polling-rate support. The keyboard is aimed at enthusiast users looking for low-latency wireless performance, aluminum construction, and an ergonomically angled typing layout. The Z11 Ultra 8K features a CNC-machined unibody aluminum alloy chassis with a retro-inspired design influenced by 1970s arcade hardware. One of the more distinctive visual elements is a cartridge-style metal plate positioned in the lower-left section of the keyboard, which also functions as storage for the included 2.4GHz wireless receiver.
The keyboard uses a gasket-mounted internal structure paired with six layers of acoustic dampening material. Keychron also incorporates a single-key slotted PCB and a PP positioning plate designed to reduce resonance and soften keystroke feel inside the aluminum frame.
The keyboard ships equipped with custom HUANUO mechanical switches alongside double-shot Cherry-profile PBT keycaps. Connectivity options include wired USB-C, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless operation.
According to Keychron, both wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes support polling rates up to 8kHz. The keyboard is based on the ZMK low-power firmware platform, which is commonly used in wireless enthusiast keyboards because of its focus on efficiency and flexible wireless functionality.
Power is supplied by dual integrated 4000mAh batteries, with one battery housed inside each side of the split chassis assembly. The Alice layout angles the left and right typing sections inward, aiming to reduce wrist strain and provide a more natural hand position during extended typing sessions.
The underside of the keyboard also includes an X-shaped silicone support pad intended to improve desktop stability and reduce vibration transfer.
With its aluminum construction, acoustic tuning, ergonomic layout, and high polling-rate support, the Z11 Ultra 8K expands Keychron’s enthusiast-focused wireless mechanical keyboard lineup.
